Today's the day! Our Mission team comes home! We continue to pray for safe travels and can not wait to hear all about Jamaica Sunday 8/4/19 Theme: I'll Follow You Anywhere Readings: Joshua 1:5-9, 2 Timothy 1:6-10 and Matthew 28:18-20 Consider: To follow Jesus is to be sent. To be sent means places like Jamaica, but more than that it means places we know well - our homes, schools, teams, campuses and careers. It is the unique mission field you return to that requires a greater step in faith than going to Jamaica ever did. Because the hardest place to be a missionary is to people we know - who think they know or don't want to know. Check out Mark 6:4. Jesus knew this all too well. Pray: For courage to follow Jesus boldly at home, school, campus, work, etc. That God will help you be unashamed as you share your faith and the message of Jesus. For strength and wisdom to continue growing faith and discipleship. For wisdom to seek, know and understand how God is calling you to follow Him. https://youtu.be/JaiG47vP2nA

Are you willing to let go of friends and relationships that distract you from following? Are you willing to let go of your goals to make way for Jesus' call? Are you willing to set aside your future for Jesus' eternity? Are you willing to give up your own desires for Jesus' purpose for you? Are you willing to lose the things that matter in this world to gain freedom, joy, grace and abundant life both for this world and the next? Pray: That God would help you know, remember and believe that Jesus is worth the cost. That God will help you determine where you're putting your will ahead of His. Good morning from Catadupa. We depart Jamaica this morning with abundant thankfulness for the week that was. In the days and weeks ahead, pray for our team as they return home and process all they experienced this week. And, Church. Thank you for your prayers and support of this mission. God is doing more than we can see in our young people and I thank you for trusting that and giving them opportunities to learn and grow. - Pastor Andrea
It's the last day of the mission trip! We are sad for the trip to end but we are excited to have our team home so we can hear all about their time in Jamaica! Friday 8/2/19 Theme: Wherever You Lead Readings: Isaiah 48:16-18, Ephesians 3:14-21 and Luke 18:35-43 Consider:The problem is that we tend to be blind, unable to see what God is doing or how He's leading. Our blindness can come from a need for power or control. It can be the result of doubts we have about God'd character. Or it can be our insistence on living in sin and selfishness. Whatever the case, our blindness leads us to resist following wherever He leads. Pray: Thank God for the week and all He has He has revealed. Thank God for the people of Catadupa. It's Thursday! Our mission team is on the final leg of their mission. We pray for strength and energy to help them power through the rest of the week! Thursday 8/1/19 Theme: Fearless Readings: 1 Chronicles 28:20, Romans 8:31-39, John 20:20 and John 14:25-27 Consider: How to we remember the truth in the face of our fear? First, remember that God is with you. God will not fail you or forsake you as you strive to do His work. Jesus repeats this by promising the Holy Spirit will guide you and give you peace. Because God is with us and because the Holy Spirit is in us, even when we face troubles, we are not alone. But even more than that, God is for us! If God is for us, nothing can stand against us. He help nothing back from us, but gave Jesus to be victory for us. Through Christ's victory, we are more than conquerors. The battle may rage, but the war is already won. The liar is defeated. Pray: Thank God for work week. Thank God for small group leaders and what they have shared. For God to help you recognize and let go of your fears. Our Jamaica team is about halfway through their mission and are doing amazing things and truly taking "Follow You Anywhere" to heart. If you have not yet, take a listen to the mission theme song. Wednesday 7/31/19 Theme: Set A Fire Readings: Exodus 3:1-15, Hebrews 12:22-29 and Luke 24:13-32 Consider: The best way to begin to rebuild the fire is to first confess how you struggle to believe. Then, like Moses, we must come close to see. When we come close to God, we can confess we have been distant. When we come close to God through confession, we realize how we long to stand in His presence. As we stand in His presence - through His Word, worship, prayer and mission - we realize there's no place we'd rather be. And just like that, the fire is set. Pray: Thank God for all He has revealed this week about who He is. Thank God for the people in your life who have faith that encourages you.
